Adriano Valerio was born in Italy in 1977.
After a BA in Law at the Università Statale di Milano and film studies at Marco Bellocchio's workshops he moved to France and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts at EICAR, The International Film School of Paris.
In 2004 he was appointed Assistant Professor of Nenad Didzarevic at the same school and is currently Head Professor of the Fast Track Section and Professor of Directing, Film Analysis and Working with Actors.
His works have been selected and awarded at the most important European Film Festivals (Torino Film Festival, Arcipelago Roma, Tous Courts Aix en Provence, Porto7, AFIA Arhus, Skopjie Film Festival, In the Palace Film Festival, Genova Film Festival, ...).
He is a long-term collaborator and programmer of the Immaginario Festival (Perugia) and a lecturer at Académie Libanaise des Beaux Arts (Beirut), IHB Artmedia (Casablanca), Associazione Immagina and Breda International Film Festival.
He now lives between Paris and Berlin and works as a freelance director and screenwriter.
